Kilimanjaro Community Programme

Broomhouse Young Carers is delighted to announce that the Kilimanjaroo Community Aid Programme will be working with our Young Carers over the next year visiting us once a month where we will be making gifts (to go to Tanzania) and fundraising on their behalf.

We are hoping that in 2012 we may be able to support one (or two!) of our Young Carers in going out to Tanzania to work in community orphanages. The Foundation of Kilimanjaro Community First Aid Programme is Tina Wren. Tina and her team are dedicated in supporting young people in need and their enthusiasm is just wonderful within our group setting. Keep up the fabulous work!

Youth Befriending and Counselling

Some young carers who are seen as being very isolated or are experiencing problems at home and/or school can be referred to the Broomhouse Youth Befriending Project.

Young carers in need of specialised support are referred to our Young Peoples Counselling Service.

Please refer to the Youth Befriending and Counselling links for further information.

Residentials

Residentials have taken place over the year giving the young carers respite from their caring role. Team building activities which promote working together, communication, leadership skills and commitment are offered as well challenging the young carers and, of course, having lots of fun!!!!
