Community Health
The Broomhouse and Sighthill Community Health Hub - Partnership working on local health projects.
The Broomhouse Centre and the Broomhouse Health Strategy Group are working together on a local health project. This is the Broomhouse and Sighthill Community Health Hub, this project is to address health inequalities in Broomhouse and North Sighthill. Some recent projects have included "Open Days" with "Come and try tasters" of relaxation/health walks and activities/healthy eating and information about local partnership organisations. Throughout the year there are a range of come and try sessions in healthy cooking and beginners exercise, everyone is welcome.
There is an Advisory Group to guide the work of the project made up of local people and local health and wellbeing partnership organisations. If you are interested in coming along to the advisory group to offer suggestions of projects you would like to see or just to find out what we do, please contact Jackie Hall, Community Development Worker.
Health Drop–ins
The Health Drop-ins are open 1:1 sessions for local people to have a chat with the Community Development Worker. If you have something on your mind about your health and wellbeing - or the health of someone you care for - but are not sure where to go for advice we will help you to find local or city-wide organisations that may be able to help. This information service is free of charge and available at the Fruit & Veg Co-op in the Broomhouse Market Tuesday – Friday mornings and from Tuesday to Friday afternoons at The Broomhouse Centre.
